Research Summary:

Research in the Wittenburg lab currently focuses on identifying the importance of the Core Binding Factor transcriptional complex to the malignant phenotype of osteosarcoma. Through the use of knockout cell lines and an allosteric inhibitor of protein-protein interactions we hope to identify the specific genes and pathways that are controlled by the interaction between components of the complex, RUNX2 and CBFbeta.
